It is estimated that by 2021, the video will account for 80% of all web traffic. Over 600 million hours of video are watched on YouTube every day.

Every day, more than 600 million people view videos on Facebook!

Video is everywhere, and with the introduction of IGTV (which enables users to submit longer-form videos to Instagram), I don’t see any of these figures declining.

This is fantastic, in my opinion!

I adore how simple it is to produce, share, and connect with my audience no matter where I am on the globe. But there is a problem I’ve observed both myself and our clients over the previous few years.

Making content is simple, but getting many people to watch it is a different story.

I recently visited with my buddy Wayne Reilly, who handles the social media accounts of some of the world’s most famous musicians. Wayne understands everything there is to know about generating viral content.

These are the 8 suggestions we came up with after discussing how to make viral Facebook videos in the future.

1: Focus on “Trending” Topics

Originality is vital, but you also need to develop something that others are interested in.

That means you’ll need to learn to take new popular topics and spin them into your own unique content.

It is a bit more challenging to keep up with now that Facebook has removed its ‘what’s trending’ feature, but most other sites, such as Google Trends and Twitter Trends, still highlight them.

If you make content that is relevant to a trending topic and create unique and creative content. In that case, you may rapidly climb the trend cycle and rack up millions of views in a short amount of time.

2: Create Unique Content

Uniqueness is key when making viral Facebook videos (or pretty much any other platform).

Others can inspire you, but if you find yourself striving to be like someone else, you’ve failed.

Be creative and make something that doesn’t already exist.

3: Ask Yourself, “Would I Like to Share This?”

Honestly, This seems to have to be one of the most crucial aspects of any.

You should take a step back, view your film, and ask yourself, “Would I share this?”

  • Would you share it with your friends?
  • Would you send it to someone via messenger?
  • Would you watch the video all the way through?

If the answer is no, you don’t have a viral Facebook video.

Just because you like your video doesn’t guarantee it will become viral, but would anybody else care if you don’t believe in what you make?

4: Collaborate with Other Creators

It isn’t easy to go viral on your own unless you have a large audience (or without much luck).

So look for artists that make similar films to you and figure out a method to encourage them to share your material. Reach out to them, engage with them, and assist them in sharing their films.

Offer to help them first before expecting anybody to give you a ride unless they feel very kind (and share new ideas).

When you start collaborating with other artists (preferably those with a larger audience than you), your films will spread much faster and reach a much larger audience.

5: Create Always High-Quality Content

If you want to make films that go viral again and again, you must have high standards.

I’m referring to:

  • Excellent production value.
  • Excellent audio.
  • There are no dead zones.
  • Excellent lighting.

The internet is like a caffeine-addled brain, and Facebook is perhaps the worst place for it. You have to hook viewers instantly, which means the opening 5 seconds of your film are crucial.

Will your video catch their attention as they swipe through their phone? Will it “hook” them enough to keep them watching? Will, you immediately wow them so that they watch the rest of the video?

6: Timing is Everything

It is a critical moment!

You should upload your video while people are awake and on their phones.

(1 pm – 3 pm is the optimum time to upload and put up your video)

Suppose you publish your video too early or too late. In that case, you’re unlikely to get traction, making it much more difficult to go viral.

7: Focus on Your Community

I realize you want millions of new people to see your movie. Still, the best approach to do this is to first focus on your existing audience (no matter how big or small it is).

Take good care of them. Please make sure to get initial access to your material.

And have a peek. Explain to them that you care by reading their articles.

  • respond to them
  • listen to their ideas
  • Ask questions to them

Not only does this establish trust, but each time you respond to a remark, your video gets re-posted to their newsfeed, resulting in more views and interaction, as well as a greater likelihood that they may tag their friends or share it with their audience.

8: Ask your Audience to Enable “Push Notifications.”

This final point is one that many people overlook, but it makes a significant impact.

Go ahead and ask your current audience to enable push notifications from your page right now:

Seriously, this is one of the most important things to become viral since the first hour is crucial!

Social media sites (whether Facebook, Instagram, or another) pick up on what’s popular, so the more extra people who view, like, and share your video in the first hour, the better.

(If your followers have ‘push notifications’ enabled, they will most likely view your video as soon as you post it.)

This final step alone will result in a significant increase in views!

Of course, if you follow all eight of these recommendations, your films will undoubtedly become viral. Wayne and I have used these to generate exciting and viral content, expanding our following and developing meaningful relationships with them.

I sincerely hope that these tips were beneficial to you.
